A hard fought question for every person taking a trip to Walt Disney World, “Should we stay on property or off property?” For some, this question might not really be that hard. For our family, it’s usually “off property.” We LOVE to stay on property at Disney resorts, but there are many common factors that come up when planning our Disney vacation – and they all lead to an off-property decision. Over the coming weeks we will look at the pros and cons of staying off property at Walt Disney World and why we ultimately choose to stay off (most of the time). We’ll look at things like cost, space, transportation, convenience, amenities, etc when deciding.
Walt Disney World offers some of the best accommodations and amenities around – beautiful resorts, world-class golf courses, and high level service. They also offer something that no other resort can offer – Disney “magic.” There’s no way to describe it, you just have to experience. It comes from constantly being surrounded by all things Disney, the emersion into the Disney realm, and being treated like a prince or princess from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed.
For some people, their vacation comes down to just one thing – the cost. While the Disney magic cannot be recreated off-property, you can arguably meet (or beat) Disney accommodations at a substantially lower price. For those that wish to not necessarily lower the cost of their trip, but stretch the use of their hard earned dollars, staying off property at Walt Disney World can be a great option as well.
So here’s where we dive in. There are a million people that will tell you why you should stay on property (and we’ll talk about it a little), but we’ll tell you why we stay off-property and why you may want to at least consider staying off property at Walt Disney World on your next trip.
