Don’t Pass on PhotoPass

If you’ve been to Walt Disney World recently you’ve certainly seen cast members walking through the parks with cameras. Disney’s PhotoPass Service gives guests the opportunity for professional photos from their trip at an amazing variety of locations throughout the parks. You can get a card from Disney before your vacation or you can get one from any photographer in the parks. You simply present your PhotoPass card to any photographer and they’ll take a photo of you and your family. When you get home you go online and can buy any or all of the photos. You even have the option to create photo gifts with your photos.

A few fun benefits of PhotoPass:

  1. PhotoPass photographers are stationed with almost every character, making it easy to get great photos of your child with Cinderella, while you stay with your child and help with their autograph books.
  2. You have the option to pre-purchase your PhotoPass photos before your trip. You’ll get all the photos after your trip and the rates are lower.
  3. You get great photos from PhotoPass. They are able to take a number of photos at each stop, so you can get the traditional posed pictures, but also fun candid shots.
  4. I love the option for “Magic Shots” that the photographers can help create. They’ll line you up in the right position and when you get home, you can add characters to the photos. You’ll also be able to add borders and other graphics to your photos.
 I love this Magic Shot!

Now, let’s be honest, the photos are expensive. It’s cheaper to take your own pictures. But, here’s a hint…. ask the PhotoPass photographers to use your camera as well as theirs. They will likely only take one picture with your camera, but it’s a great way to get a photo of your family without having to bother another guest.

Have you tried PhotoPass? What do you think of this service from Disney?

    Happy planning,
