A few months ago we finished building a rather large addition on our house. I’ve been looking at DIY crafts that wouldn’t cost too much to fill all these new rooms with beautiful decor. I also wanted to add subtle Disney touches because of our love for the mouse. I chose O’hana as a nod to our sweet angel that we lost a few years ago.
I found a blank canvas for only $2 at a bargain store. I wanted to hang this canvas in our new entryway, so I chose some acrylic paints to match the accent pillows in our living room.
I had my sister cut the word O’hana for me out of vinyl. I chose a placement I liked & peeled up the word O’hana.
It took 3 layers of paint to get good coverage over O’hana. Then I used a pencil eraser to make dots around the border. (Complete with a “hidden Mickey”)
I just kept adding dots and switching colors until I had a look I was satisfied with.
The entire project took less than an hour from start to finish. I let it dry over night & hung it up first thing this morning! I love how simple this project was & my wallet did too!!
Try it for yourself! If you do, send us a picture – we’d love to see your creations! (email pic to terri @ wdwhints.com – omit spacing.)
