Album Review: #JazzLovesDisney

This is a sponsored post from Disney Music and One2One Network. All opinions are my own.

My #1, most favorite collectable items are CDs! Especially Disney CDs. Disney music is a favorite in our household… whether we’re listening to theme park attraction music, parade music or soundtracks from Disney films – they all evoke happiness! And this CD entitled Jazz Loves Disney is no exception – it’s a must-have for your Disney music collection!

Did you know Walt Disney loved Jazz? He paid great attention to the writing of the music accompanying his stories and unique characters such as Jiminy Cricket, Baloo, Tinker Bell or Woody. Several of these tunes have either been nominated for or won Academy Awards, which many jazz and pop stars have covered at some point in their career.

Jazz Loves Disney was recorded between Paris, London and Los Angeles by a dream cast of artists such as Gregory Porter, Melody Gardot, Stacey Kent, Jamie Cullum and other leading music stars. Produced by Jay Newland and arranged and directed by Rob Mounsey, these artists perform big band jazz covers of songs that are part of every Disney fans heritage.

This CD is quite enjoyable as it’s easy-listening! You’ll notice a couple of the songs are sung in French! That’s right, culture is included at no additional fee. 😉 The full track listing includes:

1. Jamie Cullum – “Everybody Wants To Be A Cat” – from The Aristocats
2. Melody Gardot – “He’s A Tramp” – from Lady And The Tramp
3. Stacey Kent – “Bibbidi Bobbodo Boo” (French version) – from Cinderella
4. Gregory Porter – “When You Wish Upon A Star” – from Pinocchio
5. China Moses – “Why Don’t You Do Right” – from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
6. Raphaël Gualazzi – “I Wanna Be Like You” – from The Jungle Book
7. The Rob Mounsey Orchestra – “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” – from Cinderella
8. Hugh Coltman – “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” – from Toy Story
9. Anne Sila – “Let It Go” – from Frozen
10. Melody Gardot & Raphaël Gualazzi – “The Bare Necessities” – from The Jungle Book
11. Laika – “Once Upon A Dream” – from Sleeping Beauty
12. Nikki Yanofsky -“Someday My Prince Will Come” – from Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs
13. The Hot Sardines – I Wanna Be Like You (French & English version) – from The Jungle Book (US release only)

My two favorite songs from this album are Everybody Wants to be a Cat and A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes. I’m a fan of cats. I foster kittens (and puppies too). I just adopted a kitty with a heart-condition. The song, Everybody Wants to be a Cat, is just fitting for our household. 😉 A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes is a classic. I always enjoy hearing it – no matter the version. This version is instrumental, which is just lovely!

If you’re a Jazz fan, Disney fan or both, then grab this CD or download the music soon! You can find it on iTunes or Amazon starting November 18, 2016. What an excellent Christmas gift this would be for any Disney music-loving fan!
