Snacking Around the World! (Germany, Italy, America & Japan!)

sommerfest

The Germany Pavilion is one of my favorite places for snacks in Walt germany menuDisney World. Although the loss of the large pretzel and the bratwurst from the snack credits on the Disney Dining Plan, there are still tons of fun options. One of the best is the House-made Paprika Chips. In a word: YUM! The paprika and curry flavor on these chips put them in my top five list for sure. Beyond that, there’s apple strudel and black forest cake – you can’t go wrong. If you can, find a shady bench to relax on while you munch on those chips and keep an eye out for a few bavarian surprises to “pop” out.

There’s only one thing to do in The Italy Pavilion – eat gelato! Unfortunately, the gelato kiosk doesn’t accept dining credits – boo! At this point, you may need a break from stuffing your face anyway. But if you don’t, try the Coppa Amicizia. It’s an amazing mix of cookies & cream and strawberry gelato with mango sauce and whipped cream! Take a load off and enjoy the juggling act here – Sergio is serving up giggles to go with your gelato!

At American Adventure you’ll find plenty of places to rest your tired feet – cool off in the shade of the pavilion’s grand mansion, or find a good seat to watch the show going on at the outdoor theater. And don’t think you can skip the American snacks! Aside from the classics like fried dough and root beer floats at the Fife And Drum Tavern…

…there’s also jalapeno and cheese stuffed pretzels at Block & Hans.

katsura grillThe Japan Pavilion is another favorite of mine. Snack options here include Edamame (try it – you’ll love it!) and sushi! If you’re looking for something a little different, try the green tea cheesecake at Katsura Grill. Take your snack towards the back of the pavilion and you’ll find yourself is the cool, quiet Japanese gardens. Take a moment to find your zen… I could stay in this place all day. And make sure to hit the shops here too – you’ll find some unique souvenirs, and there are lots of quirky candy options you can use snack credits for too!
