What is a #DisneySide @Home Celebration?
Disney Parks 2014 theme is Show Your Disney Side. Nearly 1,000 bloggers were chosen by MomSelect and Disney Parks to host a #DisneySide celebration between February 15 and March 2, 2014. Each blogger received an American Tourister suitcase filled with party supplies in order to host their own DisneySide celebration! Party supplies included plates, napkins, cups, balloons, Minnie & Mickey lithographs, HP card making kits, Craisens, decorations and more! This suitcase filled with fun sure got our creative juices flowing!
Our #DisneySide Celebration Theme
The range of dates requested to hold a party worked out perfectly, as my daughter’s 6th Birthday falls near the end of February. We’ve decided to throw her a #DisneySide Birthday Party on Saturday, February 22nd. We’re making it a true Show Your Disney Side theme. Guests are welcome to come dressed as their favorite Disney character or wear their favorite Disney t-shirt. We’ll have tables decorated with different Disney themes: Frozen, Mickey & Minnie, Princesses and Toy Story. While I was provided with enough items to throw a party for 10 guests, we figured it was okay to go bigger ~ we’re planning for 100 in attendance! We’ve reserved a church gymnasium, we’ll have a bouncy house, games and prizes for kids. And for the adults, we’re having a raffle!! (Yes, that is a ploy to keep the parents around to help watch their kids.)

Our #DisneySide: It’s Better to Give than to Receive
With a possible 100 guests in attendance… birthday gifts would become overwhelming. In lieu of gifts, we’re asking for optional donations of very small toys, coloring books, crayons, school supplies, personal hygiene products, flip-flops/crocs, etc. to be sent down with a Missions Team to Honduras. The members of this missions team will pass these items out to the Honduran citizens living in poverty.
