Review: Walter & Rosie’s Candles ~ Pineapple Float

When I first found Walter & Rosie’s shop on Etsy I was very excited! They offer soy candles named after iconic Disney items and characters, such as Mickey Waffles, Main Street Bakery and Minnie! I mean, who wouldn’t want their house to smell like Walt Disney World?! (hand goes flying in the air)!

I was offered the chance to review one, so naturally I picked “Pineapple Float,” named after one of my absolute favorite treats at Walt Disney World, the Pineapple Dole Whip Float! If you are unfamiliar with my favorite treat, the Dole Whip is a soft-serve pineapple sorbet that you can have served “float-style” with pineapple juice. My favorite place to get one at WDW is at Aloha Isle, which is one of the first things you see when you enter the exotic Adventureland. This stand also serves orange, chocolate and vanilla with soda – but why bother?! I cannot go to WDW without having a Pineapple Dole Whip Float! (Hint: You can also find them at the Polynesian Resort at Captain Cook’s quick service.)

When I first received my Pineapple Float candle, I noticed the packaging was simple, neat and clean with a really cute label. The product would look nice in any room – it’s currently sitting on my kitchen countertop. Because it’s a soy candle, I think it offers a cleaner smell. I no longer use non-soy candles because the smells burned gave me a headache. Not so, with soy candles. I find soy candles, including this one, offer a light, clean smell that is not overwhelming. I could definitely smell it as I walked into the kitchen. Even after burning for a few hours, the candle looked like it was barely used, offering up a long burning time.

Now the real question…did it smell like a Pineapple Dole Whip Float? Are pineapples yellow inside? Then the answer is yes and yes. It had a pleasant, sweet pineapple smell that transported me to Adventureland. I can hear the tiki drums in the background. I look forward to ordering some more scents from Walter & Rosie.
