App Review: Mousetrips

I recently had a chance to test out a great new app called MouseTrips, which was designed to keep Disney vacation planning madness down to a minimum. And we all know that keeping track of Disney vacation plans can be maddening.

Let’s start at the beginning with some of the features offered by Mousetrips. It allows you to:

• Keep track of your travel and trasporation plans, hotel information, dining and entertainment plans
• Save photos of passes and PhotoPasses
• Export plans to your iphone calendar
• Create a countdown to your trip and a dining countown that counts down to the 180 day mark.
• Track dining points for the Disney World dining plan.

The app can keep track of trips to Disneyland, Walt Disney World, DisneyVero Beach, Hilton Head and Disney Cruise vacations.

The home page is simple and easy to navigate. I began by going to the “Add Trips” option and chose my destination (Walt Disney World), and my travel dates. You can then “Add Plans” to your trip. I added my resorts (again, easy to find through their navigation) and then began adding dining reservations. You choose your restaurant, add a time and you can also store your confirmation numbers. I chose not to add flight or rental car information, but it would have been simple to add.

My favorite feature is the vacation countdown. It shows in the app, but also on the app’s icon. I love turning on my phone and seeing how many days before our next trip!

I was very impressed with the Mousetrips app. I think it will be really great while we are at Disney for quick references about all of our dining and entertainment reservations. I highly recommend checking out this app before your next trip.
