During the month of February, we’ll be featuring one Disney Vacation Planner per week! This week’s agent is Linda Galloup, affiliated with Academy Travel, and like all of the agents we’ll be featuring, her services are free!

WDW Hints: Tell us all of your favorites…

Linda:

  • Resort: Grand Floridian
  • Month to visit WDW: Sept – Dec with the exception of Thanksgiving week and Christmas break.  And Jan and Feb.  My favorite week would be the week after Thanksgiving. The Christmas Decorations are up and low crowd attendance.
  • Ride/Attraction:  Pirates of the Caribbean and Soarin
  • Character: Snow White
  • Shop: Emporium
  • Restaurant: ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Resort  and I  love the Garden Grill for a Character meal! Favorite snack is a Dole Whip from Aloha Isle in Adventure Land or Captain Cooks at the Polynesian.
WDW Hints: What lesser known fact about WDW do you enjoy telling others?

Linda: REST!  And get to the parks at rope drop!  Use an itinerary to make sure you see and do all of your favorite rides and restaurants and visit the characters that you can’t miss.  Then after lunch, head back to the room for a much needed rest.  Go back out about 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. and you will feel refreshed and ready to have some more fun!  This is specially true if you have little ones!  And please wear comfortable shoes!  No flip flops etc!  Your feet will thank you!  And did you know if you ask a Cast Member at a quick service restaurant for a cup of ice water, that there is no charge!  Save those snack credits for something more fun than a bottle of water!

WDW Hints: How long have you been a vacation planner?

Linda: I have been a vacation planner since Nov 2012 so I am fairly new at this but not new to Disney!  For years I have planned Disney trips for friends and family at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World  and they used to tease me that I should do this for a living!  It has been a dream of mine for quite some time to be a Disney Vacation Planner and I have finally managed to make my dream come true!  It makes me so happy to share my love of Disney with other people and help them make their vacations as magical as possible!

WDW Hints: Why use a Disney Travel Planner?

Linda: My answer to that is Great Customer Service is always my priority.  I handle your vacation as if it were my own and do my best to make sure it is fun from beginning to end.  I do all the work for you.  All you need to do is pack your bags and enjoy!   I make all of your advanced dining reservations and complete a customized itinerary for your vacation that includes which park is best to visit on the least crowded day and where to find all of your favorite characters, Park hours and parade times and all of your dining reservation confirmation numbers and times. I also keep searching for better offers and promotions that I can pass on to you even after you book your trip.  And if you need me to help you during your trip I am available!  I’m just a phone call or text away!  I try to really listen to all of my clients so I can understand exactly what will make their vacations dreams come true!

WDW Hints: What is your best tip for traveling with little ones?

Linda: My best tip is don’t over do it!  We recently took our Twin 4 year Old Grandsons to Walt Disney World and made sure to rest every afternoon and brought the stroller.  Even though they do not normally ride in one anymore it was used quite a bit on this trip!  I packed a bag that was easy to get in out out of the stroller for the security check and filled it with a change of clothing for each child, wet wipes, juice boxes, raisins and packages of pretzels and goldfish crackers.  I also packed small suckers to keep them happy if we had a long line to wait in.  Sunscreen and of course their autograph books and pens.  I also filled an empty mini M &M container stacked with a new penny and two quarters alternately to make it easy to use at the penny pressing machines.  That was one of their favorite and inexpensive souvenirs!

WDW Hints: What’s one deal you’re currently offering?
