Overlooked Attractions at Epcot – Part 1
If you have ever been to Epcot then you have likely raced around Test Track, sailed high on Soarin’ and basked in the glow of Illuminations. But what about the overlooked attractions? What about the rides, shows and attractions that don’t get top bill?
Here are a few attractions that are worth a longer glance:
Club Cool
This oasis of refreshing drinks is tucked away at Epcot and is worth seeking out during a long hot Florida afternoon. This attraction is sponsored by Coca-Cola and showcases interesting and unique soda beverages from around the world. Each flavour is different and most are enjoyable. There is a drink from Italy called “Beverly” that has a very bitter flavour and is often used as an aperatif. The Lychee Mello, on the other hand, is very sweet and contains the essence of lychee – a very juicy and grape-like fruit. Did I mention that it’s free? Now that I have really piqued your interest head on over and check it out!
Maelstrom
Head on over to the Norway Pavilion and enjoy a fun and adventurous boat ride through the Nordic past. This ride has great theming, is fun for all ages and also includes an neat twist. (I won’t spoil the surprise in case you haven’t experienced it yet!) After your boat journey you can view a 10 minute film about Norway. This is a great place to cool off, be entertained and enjoy some history too!
Living with the Land
There is more to do in the Land Pavilion than just Soarin’! “Living with the Land” is a 13 minute journey through the future of farming. You begin by boarding a boat for a gentle ride through unique indoor plant growing areas. From there you will glide through 5 areas a Tropics Greenhouse, the Aquacell, a Temperate Greenhouse, the Production Greenhouse , and a Creative House. The information you learn is fun and interesting and will leave you with some great facts for your next trivia challenge. Jammitors
The next time you are visiting Epcot don’t miss a performance by the Jammitors! They are located in Innoventions West and pack a whole lot of fun into a 10 minute show. This group of musicians play percussion with strange and fun utensils. Dressed as a clean-up crew, they park their garbage bins and pull out percussion instruments while on their “break”.
Karamelle Kuche at the Germany Pavillion
This caramel shop at the Germany pavilion offers fresh caramel popcorn, caramel apples, caramel covered strawberries and marshmallows. They also offer some of the best chocolate-covered caramel squares you havbe ever tasted! What is especially unique about this shop is that some of the items are made fresh, in the store, at the open kitchen and these items can only be found in this location at Disney World! They accept the Disney Dining Plan and most of their items can be purchased with a Snack Credit. This is a great place to sit, relax and watch the candy makers at work while you’re taking a break from the hot Florida sun.
